As part of Migacz’s wider work with concrete, this series shifts the focus from the facades of the concrete buildings to the landscapes and atmosphere around them. The work takes Bellahøj as its starting point, along with a longing for what seems to be missing from this concrete environment: the density of the forest, the movement of the wind, the traces of rain, and the wildness of nature.

Looking at Bellahøj’s distinctive concrete blocks, Migacz explores the tension between the clear geometry of architecture and the unpredictable forces of nature. This concerns both the landscape outside the buildings and the atmosphere that feels absent inside them. It is a sense of something living, physical, and untamed, finding its way into the strict spaces of concrete.

The works express this through oil on different surfaces, including concrete, canvas, and wood. The images move between recognisable landscapes and more abstract forms, where colour, light, and texture suggest wind, rain, and vegetation. The landscape becomes more than a view. It becomes a sensory experience shaped by memory and longing.

Concrete is more than a material or a reference to architecture. It is part of a landscape marked by stability and control, while nature insists on movement, change, and wildness. The works explore the space between these states, where the organic and the constructed meet, and what is absent almost becomes physically present.
