Emilie Arnold

Emilie Arnold works with ceramic sculptures and objects in which organic forms and creature-like figures move between the familiar and the imaginary. Through an intuitive process, clay is shaped, taken apart, and reassembled until figures with individual characteristics emerge. Her works are characterized by irregular forms, distinctive features, and varied surfaces.

Arnold's practice is rooted in an open and exploratory approach, allowing forms to develop throughout the process. The unconventional and unpredictable are given space without necessarily conforming to ideas of harmony or perfection.
