Light Vessel

The light box is made up of three painted planes of glass housed within a custom built frame made from pine. The layered glass effect is inspired by early Disney animation techniques which they called ‘the multiplane camera.’

“The idea of the multiplane camera was to increase the convincing nature of the world by giving it a sense of depth.”

This series of light boxes are an exploration of physically representing the human body as light and energy. Inner light manifested in physical form. I sketched the idea for these paintings directly after a breathwork and sound journey by Mikkel Sonne and Laerke Frigioni. My intention was to visualise sound within and around my body.
